Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry (Thriller)
An evening of three classic Hitchcock films is presented in Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play: “The Lodger,” “Sabotage,” and “The 39 Steps.” Featuring actors playing dozens of characters, live sound effects, and musical accompaniment, Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play plays out like a 1940s radio broadcast.
Most people know Alfred Hitchcock as the director of North by Northwest, Psycho, and The Birds, and as the genially macabre host of Alfred Hitchcock Presents on television. However, there is also an even more formidable Hitchcock of a far older vintage: the Hitchcock prior to his coming to America, before he made Rear Window, Vertigo and many other classics. By focusing on early Hitchcock, as the playwright Joe Landry has done, we are introduced to new realms of suspense, mystery, and darker aspects of human nature.
